Problem Statement

    In nowadays technology will development society, people living with high-tech around. One of the great inventions in the world is vehicle, which bring more convenience to human. However, vehicles also produce air pollution to the world. Today, in many advanced countries, which promote to using public transports to reduce the air pollution issue. Especially in Australia, People travel with a bus in Brisbane can usually see a big sign stick on it “every full bus reduces 30 cars on the road”. This is a good example to offer people a sense that is pay more attention on the topic of air pollution.

    According to the research document, there are over 2000 car parks underneath of Parliament House. This research might explain that there is at least thousands of vehicle travel to Parliament House during weekdays. This situation can be the one of the major source of air pollution in the future. As the Capital of Australia the Parliament House might be the leader to promote environmental friendly. In terms of Australia’s architects who need to have the responsibility to guide the parliament to do the right to contribute the environment.

Solution Statement

    Using public transport instead of private vehicle is one of the solutions for the air pollution. For the Parliament House, the capital of Australia, a bus network or light rail system can be designed instead of big amount of car park underneath of the Parliament House. The major point of the public transport system design with the Parliament House is to reduce the amount of car park and advocating travel with transport in place of travel with private cars.

    The system of Queen Street Mall Bus Station in Brisbane City can be designed as the underground bus station under Parliament House. Based on the research, there is a perfect bus network system in Canberra City. However, there are only 2 routes of bus travel from city along the way to the Parliament House during weekdays, and a route of bus in weekend. Nevertheless, the buses only go around the Parliament House. One of the solution can be designed a bus station placed at the car park location underneath the Parliament House. The members of parliament can take buses to their work place from Canberra City. This also can be the sense to contribute for the environment friendly.
